Smoked is for interiors that aren't afraid of depth. The smoking process reacts with the tannins in the oak to produce a rich grey-brown tone - cooler and more sophisticated than a standard stained floor, with a colour that comes from within the wood rather than sitting on top of it.
It works beautifully in modern, architect-designed homes, against white walls, concrete surfaces and dark joinery. It also holds its own in cosier, more layered interiors where you want the floor to anchor the room.
